About this file
This document appears to be a technical assessment describing the selection of a Norpix workstation solution for a NASA-related project called DUCT^2, focused on cryogenic transfer technologies. The document details extensive research conducted to identify a computer capable of capturing high-rate camera data at 2.02 GB/second, with on-site testing revealing limitations in existing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions.
The Norpix solution was determined to be superior, offering several key advantages: compatibility with CoaXPress v6 camera interface, ability to capture up to 22 GB/second, and potential for reuse in future ground experiments involving high-rate cameras. The technology is specifically intended to support space mission research involving cryogenic propellant technologies, with the goal of decreasing uncertainty in data collection. NASA engineers have previously utilized Norpix solutions, and this integrated system is tailored to meet specific project requirements while offering cost-effective and architecturally flexible data capture capabilities.

Text version
The Norpix workstation solution was identified as the best product for our project. Extensive research was done in identifying a viable computer to capture data from cameras with a data rate of
2.02 GB/second. On-site testing with an existing COTS solution was performed and failed tests ran with the camera. Another solution that was compatible with the CoaXPress v6 camera interface was also identified but was unavailable for sale. Norpix solutions have been used by various NASA engineers. They provide an integrated solution that is tailored for our project needs and requirements. The software can capture up to 22 GB/second. This integrated solution can be reused for future ground experiments that use high-rate cameras, thus saving costs and simplifying the work need to create a new architecture. This solution will help DUCT^2 acquire data that would decrease uncertainty in cryogenic transfer technologies, which are imperative for space missions that use cryogens, such as for propellant.
