About this file
This document is a Specifications of Furnace Parts document from NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) detailing replacement part requirements for ISO 5 clean room furnaces. The specifications outline six key vendor capabilities: (1) manufacturing semiconductor grade fused quartz parts, (2) being an authorized Momentive Technologies distributor, (3) producing parts 60-inches or longer with specific frosting, (4) having a furnace capable of annealing parts to 1150 degrees Celsius for one hour, (5) manufacturing parts to NASA GRC's exact specifications, and (6) producing parts with a specific 165/60mm taper. The document is focused on the Smart Sensing and Electronics System branch's need for precision parts for their silicon carbide integrated circuits and sensor development for aerospace applications.

Text version
Specifications of Furnace Parts The Smart Sensing and Electronics System branch at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) at Lewis Field focuses on developing silicon carbide (SiC) integrated circuits (ICs) and sensors for aerospace applications. NASA GRC needs replacement parts for their ISO 5 clean room furnaces.
The vendor and replacement parts should meet/address all the following capabilities/specifications:
1. Vendor must have demonstrated capability of making parts of semiconductor grade fused quartz
2. Vendor must be an authorized distributor of Momentive Technologies for source material
3. Vendor must be capable of making parts of 60-inch length or greater with frosting in certain segments.
4. Vendor must have a furnace capable of annealing parts to 1150deg.C for 1 hour.
5. Parts must be made to specifications provided by NASA GRC.
6. Some parts will require a taper of 165/60mm.
