About this file

This document is a Statement of Objectives (SOO) for a copper shroud system procurement by the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The Cryogenics and Fluids Branch (Code 552) requires one unit of a copper shroud system designed by their engineers, with the vendor responsible for manufacturing based on provided design drawings and CAD models. The system is specifically needed for conducting experiments at temperatures below 120 K, with the primary purpose of reducing parasitic heat load to produce accurate test data.

The fabrication will occur at the vendor's facility, with the vendor procuring necessary materials and tooling. The copper shroud system will be used in GSFC Building 25, Room S027 for testing cryogenic systems. The performance timeline requires the vendor to deliver the copper shroud system to GSFC within 12 weeks of receiving the purchase order. The key objective is to create a precise thermal management component that enables accurate low-temperature scientific experiments.

Copper Shroud

1. Objective/Requirements

The Cryogenics and Fluids Branch (Code 552) at the NASA Goddard Space Flight

Center (GSFC) will procure one unit of copper shroud system designed by Code 552 engineers.

2. Requirements of the system

Vendor will manufacture a copper shroud system that is designed by the Cryogenics and

Fluids Branch. Code 552 will provide the necessary design drawings and CAD models to vendor in order for the part to be manufactured. The copper shroud is needed to achieve the correct testing parameters and temperatures for experiments below 120 K.

3. Place of Performance

The fabrication of the copper shroud system will take place at vendor facility. Vendor will be responsible to procure the necessary materials as well as tooling for the fabrication of the part. The copper shroud system will be used by Code 552 for testing of cryogenic systems below 120 K at GSFC Bldg 25 Rm S027. The copper shroud is designed to reduce the parasitic heat load test article in order to produce accurate data.

4. Period of Performance

Vendor will deliver the copper shroud system to GSFC in 12 weeks from receiving the

PO.
