About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the procurement of 4-inch LED assemblies and power supplies for pressure sensitive paint (PSP) measurements at the Transonic Dynamics Tunnel. The specific requirements include 4 LED assemblies (LM4X-DM-400) and 2 power supplies (LM4X-DPS), with detailed technical specifications such as optical power output greater than 20W, TTL logic-controlled operation, wavelength centered at 400 nm (+/- 5 nm), and ability to generate light pulses from 10 microseconds to 10 seconds.

The technical specifications mandate precise performance parameters, including a rise and fall time of less than 1 microsecond, light output stability of 0.2% per hour, operation from atmospheric pressure down to 5 psia, and a near Gaussian light distribution past 18 inches. The deliverables are to be provided with a 6-10 week delivery timeline after receipt of order, and no government-furnished property or information is required for this procurement.

Purchase of 4-inch LED Assemblies and Power Supplies for Pressure Sensitive Paint Measurements

1.0 Introduction/Background: There is a need to procure additional LED-based lamps and power supplies for pressure sensitive paint (PSP) measurements at the Transonic Dynamics Tunnel (as well as other facilities). These lamps and power supplies will provide the ability to utilize more than one camera view for PSP measurements.

2.0 Scope of Work: This document provides the specifications of the lamps that are needed.

3.0 Objectives: This procurement will provide for additional lighting options for PSP measurements in TDT, including the use of multiple camera viewports (e.g. the side of the model [from a wall] and the top of the model [from the ceiling]).

4.0 Description of the Work/Contractor Tasks: The specifications of the lamps are as follows:

1. Optical power output must be greater than 20W (per lamp)

2. The lamps must be able to be operated in via a pulse timing method as controlled using TTL logic. The lamps will be on if the TTL input is high and off if the TTL input is low

3. The rise and fall time of the lamp output pulse must be less than 1 microsecond

4. The lamps must operate with a light output stability of 0.2% per hour after sufficient warm-up

5. Ability (with supplied air) of operating in conditions from atmospheric pressure down to 5 psia

6. The lamp output must be light centered at a wavelength of 400 nm (+/- 5 nm) with a full-width half maximum of approximately 20 nm

7. Can generate light pulses ranging from 10 microseconds to 10 seconds

(depending on the width of the TTL input signal)

8. Provide a near Gaussian distribution of light past 18 inches

5.0 Deliverables: The contractor/vendor shall provide the following:

• 4 4-inch LED Assemblies (LM4X-DM-400)

• 2 power supplies (LM4X-DPS)

With a delivery time of 6-10 weeks after receipt of order (ARO)
