About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA Langley Research Center's requirement for one refurbished Maple Leaf Additional Long-Travel Fiber Positioner to support Photonic Integrated Circuit Advanced Research and Development (PICARD). The specialized equipment must be compatible with the existing Maple Leaf Photonics SD-100 probe station and includes specific technical specifications: 6 degrees of freedom with 4 motorized axes (XYZ & fiber rotation), precise travel ranges of 50/25/12 mm with 2 nm encoder resolution, and support for edge and vertical-coupling with motorized rotation capabilities. The positioner will feature a fiber mount for a 5 mm wide array, with performance to be completed at the Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA within 8-12 weeks after receipt of order (ARO). This appears to be a sole source procurement, indicating a specific vendor is being targeted for this unique scientific research equipment.
