About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details maintenance services for a Tescan MAIA3 Scanning Electron Microscope (Serial Number 116-0191) for NASA's Shared Services Center. The contractor shall provide one planned preventive maintenance inspection per contract term, including comprehensive system checkout, lubrication, electrical/mechanical/vacuum maintenance, and column alignment. The maintenance services include unlimited emergency service visits and technical phone support during regular business hours, with a commitment to respond within two working days for equipment breakdowns.
The SOW specifies that all services will be performed by factory-trained service engineers and include labor, travel, living expenses, and replacement of worn or defective components. Major parts coverage is included for the current instrument configuration. Certain parts are explicitly not covered, such as moveable and fixed apertures, Schottky emitter, specimen holders, scintillators, energy dispersive x-ray detector, and electron back-scatter diffraction camera (unless caused by instrument malfunction). The government retains the ability to perform basic maintenance like cleaning/replacing apertures and o-rings, with the contractor maintaining ultimate repair responsibility.
