About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for NASA Marshall Space Flight Center's requirement for a manufacturing technology demonstration using thin-wall Laser Powder Directed Energy Deposition (DED) process to fabricate a JBK-75 RS-25 aft end nozzle demonstrator.

The vendor must prepare a large-scale build plate support and complete a minimum 20% deposition of the thin-wall RS-25 nozzle aft portion within 55 consecutive days (approximately 1,000 machine hours). Key specifications include capability for 1mm wall thickness, combined height greater than 90" and diameter greater than 80", using JBK-75 Fe-Ni alloy powder (virgin, 1x or 2x used acceptable). The work requires a dedicated S57 laser system, inert gas chamber, build volume minimum of 60" diameter by 72", and all necessary engineering support, operators, and consumables. The period of performance is 7 months from authority to proceed, with deliverables to be shipped to Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. NASA will provide drawings, models, dimensions, heat treatments, and DED-sized JBK-75 powder for the builds.
