About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for NASA and Army's procurement of two YASA 750R axial flux motors for a coaxial test stand that will operate with air or heavy gas. The motors will be used to drive rotors that will be digitally synced at specific crossing points.
The technical requirements specify that the motors must provide 387 Nm of continuous torque at speeds between 600-1550 RPM, have a compact shape for testbed packaging, and include a large through bore for driving coaxial rotor shafts. Deliverables include the two motors with integrated position and temperature sensors, working drawings with CAD if available, operating manuals with specific requirements and limits, and performance curves. The items are to be delivered to Arc Energy LLC in Ridgeland, MS, who will handle system integration under an existing contract. The NASA Technical Representative for this procurement is Robert Thornburgh from organization code D308.

Motors for a Coaxial Test Stand
1.0 Introduction/Background: NASA and Army are building a new coaxial test stand that can operate with air or heavy gas. This stand is to be driven by two independent motors and then digitally sync to drive at a specific crossing of the rotors.
2.0 Scope of Work: This statement of work is for the procurement of the motors will be used to drive the rotors in the test stand. This task does not include any system integration, which all be done by Arc Energy under an existing task contract.
3.0 Description of the Work/Contractor Tasks/ Deliverables:
The contractor shall deliver two (2) YASA 750R axial flux motors. The motors shall include standard integrated position and temperature sensors. The contractor shall also deliver a working drawing (and CAD if able) that can be used for incorporation into the rest of the testbed. The contractor shall also include a manual or instructions for detailing specific operating requirements and on operating limits (i.e. max temp, required flow rate, no-load current). Contractor should also include and performance curves on the motor or similar motors.
The selection of these motors was based on the requirements for the rotor test stand. The motors need to provide 387 Nm of continuous torque at speeds ranging from 600 to 1550 RPM. They must have a compact shape that will permit packaging within the testbed and must have a large through bore to drive the pair of coaxial rotor shafts.
4.0 Place of Delivery:
The Contractor shall deliver the items under this purchase contract to the following address:
Arc Energy, LLC ATTN Kelley Warnock 224 Bellewether Pass Ridgeland MS 39157-8762 Phone: 601-941-2115
5.0 NASA Technical Representative (TR):
The TR will serve as the task technical liaison between the Contractor and the COR and will assist the COR in performing his/her duties.
