About this file

This Statement of Work outlines NASA's requirement for solenoid valves and manifolds needed for on-orbit and Lunar/Martian spacecraft servicing testing. The contractor must manufacture, test, and deliver twelve SDPX0507400B solenoid valves with polyimide valve seats and wire insulation, along with twelve AATX0502700B two-way manifolds constructed of 316 stainless steel with SAE AS5202-04 fluid interfaces.

The deliverables must include material certifications, valve and manifold model drawings, and "as-run" acceptance test procedure information for each valve. All items must be delivered to NASA Kennedy Space Center by February 10, 2025, to support thermal vacuum testing in spring 2025. The valves will be used to test components in a thermal vacuum chamber using gaseous helium and supercritical xenon. Quality requirements will follow standard vendor processes, and the place of performance is NASA John F. Kennedy Space Center.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements On-orbit and Lunar/Martian spacecraft servicing is an emerging field of engineering that many future missions are planning to utilize. The importance of this emerging field has been recognized at the highest levels of the U.S. government, including the White House.

Several components must be designed, built, tested, validated, and qualified for reliable operation for in-space or non-terrestrial environments to enable effective, safe, and low-cost spacecraft servicing. Solenoid valves are required to test these components in a thermal vacuum chamber with gaseous helium and supercritical xenon. NASA Shared Services Center has a requirement for procurement of these solenoid valves.

2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs

The contractor shall perform the following duties:

Manufacture, functionally test, and deliver twelve (12) SDPX0507400B solenoid valves o Use Polyimide valve seats and polyimide wire insulation

Manufacture and deliver twelve (12) AATX0502700B two-way manifolds o Constructed with 316 stainless steel o With SAE AS5202-04 fluid interfaces

Include material certifications for each end item Include a drawing of the valve and manifold models with a statement that the

“manifolds share the same pressure ratings as the SDPX0507400B if the pressure and control port(s) are plugged”

Include relevant information from the “as-run” acceptance test procedure for each valve

Ship the units to the following address:

o Transportation Officer, NASA

Central Supply, Bldg. M6-744 Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 Attn: Brian Nufer, VAB Room 1K13 Desk: 321-861-7311

Complete order in a timely manner to support NASA thermal vacuum testing in the spring of 2025

Quality requirements shall be per the standard vendor processes

3. Place of Performance NASA John F. Kennedy Space Center

4. Period of Performance Delivery of the solenoid valves and manifolds with their associated paperwork shall be before February 10, 2025.
