About this file

The provided document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for an Eddyfi Ectane 3 eddy current array (ECA) inspection system required by NASA. The SOW outlines the objective, characteristics, and specifications of the required system, which must meet a 90% probability of detection with 95% confidence for critical flaw detection in space launch system welds. Key details include that the Ectane 3 system must be portable, rugged, and support ECA weld inspections, custom ECA probes, and compatibility with 64-element ECA probes upgradable to 128 or 256 elements. The system is to be delivered within 5 weeks of order receipt to the NASA Langley Research Center. The related federal contract opportunity is a sole-source procurement under FAR Part 12 and 13 for the Eddyfi Ectane 3 with 64-channel ECA and SmartMUX, with Eddyfi Corp as the sole-source provider.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements

An eddy current array inspection system for metallic plates and orbitally welded tubing is required for the inspection of critical welds in space launch systems.

NASA requires inspection hardware to meet a 90% POD with 95% confidence for the detection of critical flaws. The Ectane eddy current array system will enable characterization of the performance of inspection techniques for far surface cyclically grown fatigue cracks through probability of detection testing.

2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs

LINE PART NO. DESCRIPTION QTY.

1 ECTANE3-E64 Ectane®3 inst. for advanced tubing & surface inspections. Array capabilities with SmartMUX™ 64. Supports ECA & ECT. IP65. Incl 2 batteries, RJ-45 cable, AC power sup. Requires Magnifi® software version 4.8 and above, sold separately.

The contractor shall deliver an Ectane3-64 eddy current array instrument for advanced tubing and surface inspections. System shall work with Magnifi software* to accommodate customization of inspection parameters with custom eddy current array and single element eddy current testing probes. Operating frequency range shall be 5 Hz to 10 MHz or greater. System shall be portable, rugged, and support:

Eddy current Array weld inspections for volumetric crack detection.

Custom eddy current array probes for complex geometries.

Compatibility with 64 element eddy current array probes.

o Upgradable to 128 or 256 element array probes.

o Upgradable to support Magnetic Flux Leakage, Remote Field Eddy Current and Eddy Current Near-Field probes and technologies.
