STATEMENT OF WORK
Johnson Space Center, Protective Service Division, Security Body Worn Cameras and Digital
Evidence Management System Need (per Requirement)
1. Objective/Requirements
Per Federal requirement (Permission to Use Firearms, 51 U.S.C. § 20133 and NASA NPR
1600.1), the Protective Services Division (PSD) at Johnson Space Center (JSC), White
Sands Test Facility (WSTF) and White Sands Complex (WSC) requires a combined total of
132 Glock (combination of Glock 17, Glock 19 and Glock 45s), support magazines, sights, and ammunition to perform their duties. These weapons will be purchased to replace the current inventory of Glock 22 (.40 caliber) which the guard force is currently armed with.
This replacement of weapons is driven by the need to replace aging armament and to reduce the cost of ammunition, as the Glock 17/19/45s are 9mm caliber weapons and the ammunition is significantly cheaper.
