About this file
The provided document is a Statement of Work (SOW) detailing NIAR's (Wichita State University) scope of work to perform mechanical testing on thermoplastic composite parent panels received from NASA/MSFC. The key requirements include: NIAR will machine, dimension, and strain gauge the test specimens per ASTM standards; conduct the mechanical testing; report the testing data back to MSFC; and ship the tested specimens back to MSFC.
The related federal contract opportunity is a sole source procurement by NASA/NSSC to acquire these thermoplastic materials testing services from Wichita State University. The government has determined that Wichita State University is the sole provider capable of meeting the requirement. The procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 for commercial items and services. The NAICS code is 541690 - Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services. Interested parties may submit their capability statements by 4/19/2024 for the government's consideration on whether to compete this effort.
