STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements The NASA On Demand Manufacturing of Electronics (ODME) project is developing a next-generation wearable flexible sensor array for astronaut crew health monitoring, called “AstroSense”. The requirement is for the development and integration of flexible and disposable sweat extractor and cortisol sensor patches compatible with AstroSense.

2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs

The contractor shall perform the following duties:

• Flexible and disposable sweat extractor and cortisol sensor patch design, development, and delivery.

• Develop electrical and mechanical design for sweat harvesting.

• Provide samples to NASA to establish the feasibility of using a printed carbon or silver ink that does not affect the chemistry involved with the IP anode and cathode carbachol gels.

• Establish a cooperative process with NASA Ames Research Center to produce the IP anode and cathode carbachol gel pads.

• Create a reusable adhesive device design compatible with disposable patches.

• Manufacture and deliver (100 desired / 50 minimum) disposable sweat harvesting patch units.

3. Place of Performance Deliverables shall be given to the On Demand Manufacturing of Electronics (ODME) project members at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and NASA Ames Research Center. Design work and sweat harvesting sensor production shall be conducted at the contractor’s facilities.

4. Period of Performance Period of performance shall be for 6 months, and work must be completed by Sept 30, 2024. Anticipated dates 3/30/24 – 9/30/24.
