About this file

This statement of work outlines requirements for a multispectral pyrometer to be used by NASA. The pyrometer will be used to measure temperatures between 800-1400°C and 1400-4000°C on materials with unknown emissivity in a hot hydrogen furnace environment. It must offer temperature measurement resolution of 0.1°C and include a bifurcated cable for laser alignment and sample monitoring. The selected vendor will be responsible for annual calibrations and troubleshooting support. Delivery is expected 26 weeks after receipt of order to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. The related federal contract opportunity posted by NASA Shared Services Center seeks this multispectral pyrometer to support heating tests in a hot hydrogen atmosphere.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements The Hot Hydrogen Environmental Atmospheric Test (H2EAT) requires a multi-spectral pyrometer. Often, we are heating materials where the emissivity is unknown. This system collects different radiation intensities at different wavelengths. Through mathematical calculations, the system can construct any number of pyrometers and eliminate those spectral areas that don’t correspond with the emissivity. This multi-spectral pyrometer will allow for us to accurately determine temperatures and emissivity without prior calibration. This system can obtain resolution at 0.1°C and offers dual temperature measurement from 800-1400°C and 1400-4000°C. This system also comes with a bifurcated cable that allows for laser alignment and monitoring of the sample.
