About this file
This document outlines a statement of work for installing three bladder-type hydraulic accumulators. The accumulators are needed to reduce pressure spikes in the hydraulic system during testing and prevent damage to test articles and fixtures. The statement of work requires supplying and installing three 10-gallon accumulators rated for 4000 PSI, along with all necessary mounting hardware, fittings, valves, tubing, hoses, clamps, accumulator stands, plumbing, and training. The installation must be completed within 6-8 weeks of receiving payment to support upcoming testing at the facility.
The related federal contract opportunity is a special notice posted by NASA's Shared Services Center seeking accumulator stands and hydraulic load system work. Offerors are invited to submit proposals to furnish and install the accumulators according to the specifications in the statement of work in order to integrate them into the existing sub-floor plumbing and hydraulic system used with MOOG SmartCARTs.

Statement of Work Government’s Minimum Need
Summary:
Based upon review by MOOG, the hydraulic SmartCART manufacture, pressure hammer is being caused by the surge in hydraulic pressure induced at HPU (Hydraulic Pump Unit) shutdown. This pressure wave causes uncontrollable load inputs to be applied that could result in damage or complete failure of the test articles and or fixtures. The addition of three 10-gallon bladder type accumulators is required to ensure the safety of test and that the HPU is not being overtaxed during testing when large number actuation channels are being used. The accumulators will reduce the reflective pressure wave and improve the flow rate of up to 80 gpm (Gallons Per Minute) of the SmartCARTs rated flow capacity with the HPU only having 20 gpm capacity. The three accumulators will be installed one on each the south wall, west wall, and north wall plumbed into the sub floor hydraulic plumbing.
Requirement(s):
