About this file
This document outlines requirements for an automatic orbital tube welder procurement. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center is seeking proposals for an automatic orbital tube welder system that must be compatible with existing Swagelok weld heads and power supplies owned by various organizations within NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. The welder system should allow for time-critical, low-cost welding in support of test and development programs. Compatibility with the specified Swagelok equipment is critical due to its high cost, long lead times, and role in enabling collaborative welding activities between organizations.

Text version
System must be compatible with the existing equipment listed below. This is critical as this existing equipment is very costly, typically has a long-lead time to procure, and allows other MSFC organizations to perform time-critical, low-cost welds in support of a great variety of test and development programs.
We have experienced the sharing of individual automatic orbital tube weld components numerous times in recent years. This has occurred with the bldg. 4705 fabrication team, ET10 and ER14.
