About this file
This statement of work outlines the requirements for a replacement interferometer to be installed at a National Aeronautics and Space Administration facility. The interferometer must be capable of measuring large flat optics up to 6 inches in diameter with a resolution of 1200 by 1200 pixels, frame rates of 50 Hz, and acquisition times between half a second and 65 seconds. It must interface with existing hardware, lasers, and optical benches. Key specifications include a test beam diameter of 4 or 6 inches, an optical zoom of 1x, and wavefront repeatability of 6 RMS. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 80NSSC23845519Q for a Zygo Verifire MST Interferometer to be awarded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center.

STATEMENT OF WORK FOR Zygo Interferometer
1. Objective/Requirements The procurement restores metrology capability to the ES23 shop lost when our previous Zygo Interferometer broke. This interferometer will be used to measure large flat optics that are used for space-based telescope alignment and calibration.
Any replacement interferometer will need to interface with existing hardware controller, laser alignment system, bean expander (32” BEX), and other optical bench components.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
The contractor shall provide an interferometer capable of the following:
1. Interferometer to be installed on a 32” BEX
2. Measurement Capability
a. Surface form of reflective materials and optics simultaneous, front and back surface form of plane parallel transparent optics, transmitted wavefront, material homogeneity and optical thickness
3. Data Acquisition Modes
a. FT-PSI – Fourier transform phase-shifting interferometry
b. FT-QPSI - Vibration robust Fourier transform phase-shifting interferometry
c. WS-PSI – Temporal phase-shifting interferometry
d. WS-QPSI – vibration robust temporal phase-shifting interferometry
4. Alignment System: Quick Fringe Acquisition System (QFAS) with twin spot reticle
