STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
NASA Startup Studio 2023-2024 - Colorado As a segment of NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate [STMD] Technology Transfer Program, NASA Technology Transfer Expansion (T2X) accelerates commercialization by de-risking innovation through entrepreneurship and focused partnerships and initiatives to launch NASA technology-derived startups. T2X envisions prosperous NASA-infused tech startup ecosystems across the U.S. and leadership in government entrepreneurial efforts, leading to economic impact as evidenced by new company formation, new job creation, and new products launched. NASA T2X supports the technology transfer mission to ensure that innovations developed for exploration and discovery are broadly available, maximizing the benefit to the Nation. The NASA Startup Studio requirement supports T2X goals by providing novel approaches to commercialization of NASA innovations available for licensing and aids in the expansion of NASA presence across the U.S.
The Colorado-based startup studio helps to achieve goals of the NASA T2X program, and to inform future programming and support mechanisms that may be needed to advance and accelerate the commercialization of technologies from the NASA intellectual property portfolio. The studio focuses on regions of interest in Colorado while engaging local stakeholders such as academia, venture capitalists, incubators, accelerators, innovation hubs, MEPs and economic development organizations.
