About this file

This document contains a recommendation and determination to solicit from one source for the replacement of retention shutters at the Sonny Carter Training Facility located at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center. The current 10-year-old shutters require replacement due to damaged rollers and motors. The shutters are designed to provide protection against winds up to 150 miles per hour and offer privacy, light control, and noise reduction. They automatically lock into a secure position when closed, providing vital protection to windows and doors during severe storms. It is recommended to negotiate only with Rolltex Shutters, LLC, as they maintain the current system and using a similar product will mitigate performance incompatibilities and ensure safety during hurricane season. The total estimated cost is redacted and the estimated period of performance for delivery is 30 days after receipt of order.
