About this file

This statement of work outlines requirements for a vacuum/inert gas oven to be used by the Planetary Environments Laboratory at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. The oven will perform high temperature bakeouts of mass spectrometer hardware to meet the facility's rigorous cleanliness standards for instruments on planetary missions. The solicitation seeks a unit capable of temperatures up to 250°C with vacuum and inert gas capabilities for cleaning instrument parts. Responses are due by the date listed in the associated federal contract opportunity for solicitation number 80NSSC23841834Q issued by NASA's Shared Services Center to procure this oven.

Statement of Work

Note: Only use the sections that are applicable to your service procurement.

Background The planetary environments laboratory (PEL) at the Goddard Space Flight Center of the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) builds mass spectrometers and related space-flight instrumentation for planetary missions. The instrument parts are required to meet rigorous cleanliness standards that are ensured by routinely performing high vacuum (<1x10E-7 Torr), high temperature (up to 600 C) bakeouts of the parts while monitoring the residual gases in the chamber. The routine and cyclic nature of such bakeouts necessitates a system capable of quick turn-around time and automation, such as offered by
