Text version
3. The inceptor shall provide variable force feedback that can be configured via software by the end user in the pitch and roll axes. This should include the capability to quickly switch the selected force profile between simulation runs.
4. The inceptor controller should provide variable force feedback in the yaw axis that can be configured via software by the end user.
5. The inceptor shall provide the capability to adjust the range of travel via software anywhere within the physical limits of the inceptors. There should be software stops that can set as defined below.
a. Simulated Hard Stop – The maximum travel limit of the inceptor as defined in software. The user should not be able to push the inceptor past this limit.
b. Simulated Soft Stop – Secondary travel limit that is less than the hard stop. The user should be able to push past this limit with the application of additional force.
6. The inceptor shall provide appropriate safety measures in case of a malfunction, i.e. an emergency shutoff switch.
7. The inceptor shall provide an interface to a simulation that is being running on a Linux machine with the RedHat 8 operating system.
8. The inceptor shall not exceed power requirements greater than 115 VAC and draw not more than 15 AMP.
Nice to Haves
1. The inceptor provides a standard grip adaptor interface that would allow for the insertion of various control grips.
2. The inceptor should have a stick shaker or vibrator function that can be set by a user-defined discrete flag to provide additional feedback to the pilot in abnormal situations, equivalent to a stick shaker for stalls in an aircraft.
3. The inceptor should have additional Hands on Throttle and Stick (HOTAS) buttons and switches to provide discrete inputs to the system. See below for some examples.
