Statement of Work

This effort of Center Innovation Fund (CIF) aims to develop novel solid electrolyte for high-capacity battery with internal thermal management capability. Professor Lu’s lab at UC-Merced will lead the synthesis and characterization of this novel solid-state electrolyte, which is a key component in the solid state high capacity battery technology development. Professor Lu is serving as co-investigator of the CIF and has an important role in developing the novel solid-state electrolyte. The following are the tasks:

Electropolymerization of polymers onto anode/cathode for suppressing dendrite formation.

Synthesis of multisegmented polymers and perform basic characterization. This work will exam the heat management capability of our polymers.

The minimum skill/capability requirements:

The contractor shall demonstrate the capability of synthesis of polymers by harnessing superior self-assembly of a multi-segmented polymer and conformal polymer electrografting

The contractor shall provide the ability of graft desired molecules/functional groups on the polymers

The contractor shall provide the capability to characterize polymers with thermal management capability

The contractor shall provide past performance for the same or similar work
