Statement of Work for University of Notre Dame for Liner Evaluation on ANCF

Daniel L. Sutliff/LTV 21-March-2022

INTRODCUTION:

NASA Advanced Air Transport Technology/Aircraft Noise Reduction project wishes to evaluate the efficacy of a multilayer granular material acoustic liner developed under NASA direction. Farfield directivity will be used to determine the efficacy of two liner configurations as compared to a baseline. The ANCF test rig, owned by NASA and operated by the University of Notre Dame under SAA SAA3-1688 NASA will be used.

Task 1: Participate in monthly test planning meetings with NASA and their designees.

Task 2: Install liner core #1 provided by NASA in spool and install spool in inlet of ANCF. Acquire farfield data with liner core #1 installed in ANCF inlet

Task 3: Install liner core #2 provided by NASA in spool and install spool in inlet of ANCF. Acquire farfield data with liner core #2 installed in ANCF inlet

Task 4: Manufacture liner core #3. Install liner core #3 provided by NASA in spool and install spool in inlet of ANCF.

Acquire farfield data with liner with liner design #3 installed in inlet of ANCF.

DELIVERABLES:

1. Provide preliminary spectral data Liner Core #1 data to NASA with-in 2 weeks of test.

2. Provide preliminary spectral data Liner Core #2 data to NASA with-in 2 weeks of test.

3. Provide preliminary spectral data Liner Core #3 data to NASA with-in 2 weeks of test.

4. Provide final data and report to NASA by 1 December 2022.
