About this file

The document is a Public Notice to Participate issued by the Salem Area Mass Transit District (SAMTD), seeking to piggyback off Washington State Contract #03424 for Uniforms and Equipment with Galls. SAMTD intends to purchase Operator Uniforms through this contract, having verified that the product offerings meet their standard uniform requirements and that the solicitation process and statement of work align with their needs. The public notice will be posted on Oregon Buys for 14 days, with all vendors required to register on the state's e-procurement system.

SAMTD chose this procurement method due to the estimated $100,000+ cost of conducting their own Request for Proposal (RFP) and their lack of internal resources to manage a new contract. The notice includes specific protest submission guidelines, requiring physical mail delivery to the Contracts/Procurement Specialist in Salem, Oregon, with detailed protest requirements. The document highlights this approach as a cost and time-saving opportunity for the transit district, leveraging an existing state contract to efficiently acquire necessary uniforms for their operators.
