Description of Task
1. The translated subtitles shall be provided in SRT and/or VTT file format. Subtitles shall be translated from the provided English-language video into two different target languages: Spanish and Farsi. The completed SRT/VTT files must precisely match the timecode of the video.
2. As described in section 3.4 of the Statement of Work, offerors shall also create an English-language transcription for the video and will deliver one set of English transcriptions in Microsoft Word format (in addition to the translated subtitles). The transcriptions should be time-stamped.
3. As described in section 3.6 of the Statement of Work, the subtitle translations of the video require technical processes that can capture culturally specific norms and linguistic nuances. Among these technical processes are non-artificial human expertise and quality controls in translation.
Linguistic expertise up to date in local geographic and cultural contexts is essential to avoid translation errors.
4. Both the SRT/VTT subtitle files as well as the English-language transcription in Microsoft Word format shall be sent to the email address provided in the solicitation: HFaisal@usagm.gov
