About this file

This document is a standard Performance Bond template that provides a legal framework for a contractual agreement between a Contractor, a Surety, and an Owner. The performance bond serves as a guarantee that the Contractor will complete a specific project according to the contract terms, with the Surety agreeing to cover the costs or complete the work if the Contractor fails to meet their obligations.

The bond includes key provisions such as the Surety waiving notice of contract alterations, the conditions under which the Surety may remedy a default, and limitations on legal actions. Specifically, any lawsuit must be filed within two years of the final contract payment due date, and only the named Owner or their legal successors can initiate an action under this bond. The document provides blank spaces for inserting specific details such as the Contractor, Surety, Owner, contract date, project description, and the contract amount, making it a flexible template for various types of construction or service contracts.
