Hurlburt Field Contracting Requirements Document for Cognitive Enhancement Domain, 492 SOW POTFF Requirements Document

Solicitation:

Electro-Encephalography (EEG) Amplifier suitable for quantitative Electro-Encephalograph (qEEG) and capable of performing Low-Resolution Electromagnetic Tomographic Analysis (LORETA) neurofeedback (one unit needed) o Dry (needing no paste or gel to be able to collect data from the scalp) o Must have at least 19 active channels o ‘One piece’/‘stand alone’ design o Real-time Wireless connectivity o Low noise (<1.0 microvolts RMS) o 24-bit resolution A/D converter o Minimum 500 samples per second o Active, shielded electrodes o Weight less than 700g o Able to Fit head sizes around 55 cm o Be relatively inexpensive to maintain/have reliable technical support

Salient Characteristics Selected product must:

1. Have 19 active channels which allows for the collection of a qEEG and perform LORETA neurofeedback (which requires a minimum of 19 channels)

2. Connect to the software (NeuroGuide) needed for acquisition and training that has already been purchased

3. The system must be ‘dry’ which will facilitate portability and ease of use by reducing cleanup effort, time, and consumable resources, while increasing compliance of use and positive experience by target military members

4. Be one unit/piece not require wired connection to the computer (‘wireless’), and not require any outside connectivity, such as internet.’Headbox’-type (having a separate amplifier box and a detachable cap, and especially those requiring wiring to the computer) or web-connected systems will not allow for portability necessary for the types of applications and reach required by the program

5. Have low electrical noise with a A/D converter with high sampling rate (which ensures high quality signals that are necessary due to the low power of the signals of interest), and shielded electrodes (which reduces outside noise) to insure accurate data acquisition, which increases the speed and accuracy of training

6. Be light weight and fit adult heads so as to be comfortable and usable for our population being served, which is primarily adults

7. The manufacturer must have good, reliable, relatively inexpensive customer support and accessible consumable parts (sensors) so as to reduce down-time and maintain reliability
