About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a federal contract opportunity with the Department of Nephrology at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC).

WBAMC requires eight portable reverse osmosis systems for hemodialysis applications. The systems must be FDA-approved without unresolved recalls and represent the most current available models. Each system must be a portable, stand-alone device for adult use only with automatic and manual operating modes. Essential technical specifications include heat draw technology supplying hot purified water through 10 x 3 mm tubing, programmable heat draw timers, continuous product water recirculation at 0.5 to 6 bar pressure with flow rates exceeding 300-800 mL/min, programmable auto-flush capabilities (every 4 to 12 hours), and a flow rate of 1500 mL/minute. Systems must feature touchscreen displays with step-by-step instructions, data logging capabilities with USB export to Excel files, automatic service reminders, USB software upgrades, break tanks with air gaps, semi-automated chemical cleaning programs, internal leak detection, 0.005 ultra-filtration final modules, audible alarms with mute capability, antimicrobial-coated fascia, and anti-tilt shutdown modes. Sellers must be authorized dealers, distributors, or resellers providing two operator/user manuals, OEM warranties, and a separate five-year service cost quote.

Installation must be completed by authorized OEM installers within five business days of contract award, with coordination through Healthcare Technology Management at 915-569-1042. Delivery must occur within 60 calendar days of award during business hours (08:00-15:00 MST, Monday-Friday, excluding Federal Holidays) with no partial deliveries permitted. The seller must provide three business days advance notice with tracking information, proper packaging with contract number and delivery address, offloading equipment, and company safety documentation. Post access requires signed memoranda and identification verification at designated visitor control centers, and hospital access requires check-in at the WBAMC Provost Marshall Office with completion of a safety brief.
