About this file

This notice summarizes a sole source justification for a starter-generator system. The U.S. Army intends to solicit and negotiate solely with ThinGap, Inc. for a starter-generator meeting minimum requirements detailed in an attached salient characteristics document. Key requirements include a maximum power of 7-10 kW, maximum specific power of 6 kW/kg, maximum speed of 20,000 rpm, and an axial flux design interfacing with a gearbox. The Army Research Laboratory will require delivery of three starter-generators, three inverters, three DC-DC converters, and associated support to Aberdeen Proving Ground by May 15, 2023. Interested parties have 14 days from the date of this posting to submit a capability statement if they believe they can meet the requirement. Responses should be submitted to the listed points of contact by email.
