About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document certifying commercial availability for a federal procurement. The Government is procuring three pulsed neodymium: yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) lasers and one Aiming Beam Module for alignment, to be delivered to Logistics Warehouse Building 321, 6375 Johnson Road, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland 21005. The laser systems must have a tunable energy range from 0 to at least 850 millijoules per pulse, pulse width between 5 to 7 nanoseconds, wavelength of 1,064 nanometers, and pulse repetition rate of 10 Hertz with single-shot capability. Additional technical requirements include beam diameter between 7 to 12 millimeters, beam divergence less than 0.5 milliradians, pulse-to-pulse energy stability of 2 percent for at least eight hours, and thermal stabilization of the laser housing. The power supply must accommodate 100-240 Volts AC, 50/60 Hertz, single phase, 1100 volt-ampere, with maximum dimensions of 25" x 25" x 15", and power supplies must be interchangeable without recalibration. The laser head shall not exceed 25" x 10" x 10".

The contractor must provide quick connect cables, coolant lines, a remote control unit for laser parameter control, an air-to-water heat exchanger operating between 18 to 28 degrees Celsius, software for computer-based laser firing, four replacement in-line water cartridges, a quick installation kit, shipping to the destination with insurance, and a minimum two-year warranty. The Aiming Beam Module must be compatible with the laser systems, use a visible class two laser collinear to the main beam for alignment purposes, and be directly interchangeable with any laser system in a plug-and-play configuration. A critical contractor qualification requirement is that the bidder must have sold at least two identical laser systems within the last two years and provide references upon request. The contracting agency is the Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, with solicitation number W911QX26QA056.
