About this file

This is a salient characteristics document specifying requirements for two pieces of laboratory equipment to be procured by the Department of the Army Materiel Command. The document details technical specifications for an oligonucleotide cleavage and deprotection oven/chamber and an oligonucleotide purification system.

The required equipment includes a cleavage/deprotection oven that must provide programmable temperature control up to 85°C, timed reaction control, user-controlled heat and pressure settings, compatibility with various deprotection methods (ammonia-based, ammonia-free, and liquid), and gas control features. The purification system must handle 8+ oligonucleotides per run, dispense from 5+ reagent bottles, provide automated reagent dispensing, use reusable commercial purification columns/cartridges, allow flexible programming, and enable desalting and collection capabilities. Both items require onsite/virtual training, user manuals, standard protocols, maintenance procedures, and shipping/installation. The equipment will be delivered to ARL-South in Austin, TX.
