About this file

This document presents the salient characteristics specification for an explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) identification equipment procurement. The system must be man-portable and housed in ruggedized transport cases with weight manageable by EOD team personnel. The equipment must operate entirely on battery power in the field, including the X-ray source, detector, and control laptop, and include multi-bay chargers for field sustainability.

The system must feature a battery-powered, portable pulsed X-ray source with a minimum output of 270kV (with the Golden XRS-3 cited as an example), paired with a large-format approximately 12"x17" amorphous silicon flat panel detector capable of producing high-resolution images for detailed internal component analysis of suspect packages. The system must support both wireless and wired operation with a minimum 50-meter wired capability, controlled via a ruggedized laptop such as a Panasonic Toughbook. The complete system delivery must include a tripod, communication reels, batteries, multi-bay chargers, and custom tactical transport cases for all components. Temperature, volume/capacity, and warranty requirements are marked as not applicable.
