Text version

The G1/State Surgeon’s Office requires the following items for procurement.

Dedicated battery backup units for each refrigerator and freezer unit are required to provide emergency power to meet COVID-19 and routine vaccine storage guidelines. There are two vaccine distribution locations, Sacramento and Los Alamitos, with 4 storage units maintained at each.

Vaccines must be stored and maintained at specific temperature ranges leaving them susceptible to compromise if storage refrigerators or freezers lose power. The loss of vaccine equates to financial loss and delay in our ability to provide vaccines, as well as a delay in SM medical readiness and safety. The procurement of the battery back-up equipment will help reach the desired end state to maximize the safety and efficacy of the CAARNG immunization program.
