About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document for a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) training site located at RAF Lakenheath/Feltwell.

The contractor must deliver 4 units of M4A1 JCAD simulator equipment bearing the ARGON brand name to Building 1092 at RAF Lakenheath. The simulators must meet six key performance requirements: (1) appearance matching real-world JCAD devices; (2) a true-to-life interface that accurately mimics the actual detector's operation; (3) clear visual distinction from operational equipment through green body coloring with a blue rain cap cover; (4) capability to detect and simulate a wide range of chemical agents including nerve agents, blood agents, blister agents, and toxic industrial chemicals (TICs); (5) instructor-operated remote control functionality to facilitate realistic training scenarios; and (6) environmental simulation capability to model adverse weather effects such as temperature and wind direction variations on agent behavior and detection.

Salient Characteristics

CBRN Training Site

RAF Lakenheath/Feltwell

The contractor must provide 4 EA M4A1 JCAD Sims to Building 1092 on RAF Lakenheath with ARGON brand name. Compliance is met with the following characteristics:

1. The SIM M4A1 JCAD needs to look like the real world JCAD

2. It needs a true to life interface that mimics the real-world detector.

3. The SIM equipment must be easily identifiable from the real-world equipment. (the body of the SIM would need to be green, with a blue rain cap cover)

4. The product needs to be able to detect and simulate a wide array of agents. Nerve, Blood, Blister and TICs.

5. The SIM would need a remote to be used by instructors to better enable realistic training.

6. It needs to be able to identify the effect of adverse weather conditions such as temperature and wind direction.
