About this file
This Salient Characteristics document outlines the requirements for a Liquid Nitrogen Generator for Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. The key specifications include a single unit with a 50-liter internal storage capacity, capable of producing a minimum of 0.35 liters of liquid nitrogen per hour and 10 liters per day, with 99% purity. The generator must operate on 110-120V power, be air-cooled, have a maximum noise level of 70 decibels, weigh no more than 600 lbs, and include at least 4 wheels for full mobility. It requires external USA NPT standard pipe fittings with a CGA 295 fitting for liquid nitrogen output.
The document specifies that the generator will be used for shrinking bushings/bearings prior to installation into airframes to prevent potential damage. The manufacturer must provide a minimum 1-year warranty, which will commence upon completed delivery to Tyndall AFB at the address 32403-5208 in Florida. The procurement is scheduled for 20 August 2025, with the goal of supporting mission-critical operations by ensuring an on-spec liquid nitrogen inventory for the base.
