About this file
The document presents Salient Characteristics for a Portable Barrier System for Shaw Air Force Base's Anti-Terrorism initiative. The barrier system must be lightweight, manually deployable by one person, and capable of quickly shutting down vehicular traffic while maintaining pedestrian and emergency vehicle access. Critical requirements include full ballistic protection, zero electrical/hydraulic dependencies, 100% reusability after impact, minimal maintenance, high visibility, and the ability to be transported via trailer without additional equipment.
The pre-solicitation opportunity, identified by solicitation number FA480325QB018, is issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command. The barrier system must offer a lifetime warranty, with the contractor responsible for shipping and handling. Key technical specifications mandate the system's ability to establish multiple checkpoint barriers simultaneously, minimize shrapnel spray, and provide flexible configuration to meet diverse security requirements. The solicitation emphasizes a portable, robust solution for anti-terrorism defense infrastructure.
