About this file
This is a Salient Characteristics Sheet specifying requirements for a FlightSafety Gulfstream G550 Standard Ground Flight Simulator (GFS) to be delivered to Andrews Air Force Base.
The procuring entity requires one (1) complete C-37B (G550) GFS system with physical dimensions of 10' wide x 10' long x 8' ceiling height, featuring multiple touchscreen monitors configured to resemble an actual G550 cockpit. The system must include FlightSafety current standard software and licenses, specifically: MATRIX™ Software on Windows 10, high-fidelity G550 aircraft systems software, Honeywell EPIC 34.0.0 Cert H avionics, FMS Version NZ 7.1.2, and Rolls Royce BR710 engine simulation. The hardware configuration shall consist of a standard G550 GFS structure with two simulated cursor control devices (CCD), standard host PC, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), portable instructor operating station (IOS) on a touchscreen laptop, and two office-style chairs. Deliverables include shipping and installation at Andrews AFB, one day of on-site training and customer acceptance, a two-year limited warranty, and a standard spares package containing one 21" LCD touchscreen monitor, one 24" LCD touchscreen monitor, one graphics card, one video cable, one USB cable, one CCD, and one host server. The GFS functions as a graphically simulated cockpit enabling systems integration training, crew resource management, normal/abnormal procedures, avionics training, flight management system programming, autopilot execution of training scenarios, and malfunction-based abnormal situation training.

Functions to be performed = The C-37B (G550) GFS is a graphically simulated cockpit using a configuration of touch-screen monitors mounted on a frame that is spatially similar to the actual cockpit. There are two Auxiliary monitors, one above each crew member’s instrument panel which provides simulation control functions, display of simulated schematics, and snapshot selections. Aircraft sounds and aural cues are reproduced. An Instructor Operating Station (IOS) is deployed on a separate touch screen laptop that can be detached and used as a wireless device.
GFS functions include Systems Integration, Crew Resource Management, normal/abnormal procedures training and avionics training. The FMS can be fully programmed and used in conjunction with the Auto-Pilot to execute in-flight training scenarios. A set of malfunctions is provided to allow for training in abnormal situations.
