About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a Shallow Water Egress Trainer (SWET) II equipment acquisition. The primary item is a specialized training chair (Model #07-16517) designed for underwater emergency escape training, featuring a lightweight marine-grade aluminum frame with buoyancy pods that can be easily maneuvered and inverted. The SWET II is a single-place emergency egress trainer used in shallow pool environments to help trainees overcome water-related fears and practice underwater escape techniques.
The specification includes additional components such as a 4-point rotary safety belt (Model #07-1206) and a pushout exit mechanism, which are critical to the training system's functionality. Key features include adaptability to 3-4 or 5-point harnesses, an emergency seatbelt release system, and a design that minimizes potential injury risks. The equipment weighs 100 lbs, measures 52" in length and width, and is constructed with marine-grade aluminum, Lexan, and HDPE plastic. The items are to be shipped to the Charleston Transportation Office at Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina, indicating this is a Department of Defense procurement.

SWET II (SHALLOW WATER TRAINER) CHAIR
Survival System’s Shallow Water Egress Trainer (SWET) is a very effective procedures training device. It is an excellent familiarization tool to use for trainees who have a fear of water, who are uncomfortable underwater in an inverted position, who have no experience of breathing from compressed air systems, or who are novices in helicopter underwater escape training. By gradually adapting to required incremental training levels, trainees gain confidence in their abilities prior to training in the Modular Egress Training Simulator. The SWET is a single-place, emergency egress trainer having a specially designed frame fitted with buoyancy pods that allow it to be easily handled and inverted by instructors.
FEATURES:
• Constructed of lightweight, marine-grade aluminum Free floating
• Adaptable to a 3-4, or 5-point harness
• Provided with one generic exit
• Provided with one exit mechanism handle
• Free Floating
• Rotates through any axis
• Emergency seatbelt release system for extra safety
• Collapsible
• Easily Transportable
SAFETY:
• The SWET II is fabricated to minimize sharp edges, corners, or other protuberances that might cause injury to the trainee and / or instructor (s) above, on, or below the surface of the water.
• The SWET is used in the shallow end of a pool (4’) to allow for complete safety of a trainee should (s) he experience difficulty with a training sequence. Because of its specially designed shape; use of lightweight materials, and positioning of buoyancy pods, the SWET can be righted within two
(2) seconds.
• The SWET incorporates a simple, fail-safe emergency exit that is easily removable thus ensuring the safety of the trainee and control of the training exercise.
• The SET is a durable training aid designed for repetitive use in a pool-training environment.
CHARACTERISTICS:
• Gross Weight: 45.2 kg (100lbs)
• Measurements:
a. Length: 132 cm (52”)
b. Width: 132 cm (52”)
c. Height: 119 cm (47”)
• Storage Dimensions:
a. Length: 142 cm (56”)
b. Width: 104 cm (41”)
c. Height: 48 cm (19”)

• Buoyancy: Standard Marine Fenders
• Sub-Components: Lexan and HDPE Plastic
2 EA 07-1206 4 POINT ROTARY BELT
Refers to a safety harness used in SWET II Chair. The belt is a crucial component of the harness system that secures participants in the SWET II simulator.
• 4 Point: This refers to the number of attachment points of the harness to the occupant, typically at the shoulders and hips, for secure restraint.
• Rotary Belt: This likely describes the type of buckle system used in the harness, rotary buckles offer a quick and reliable release mechanism, which is critical in emergency egress situations.
2 EA PUSH-E PUSHOUT EXIT (SWET)
The SWET II incorporates a simple, fail-safe, emergency exit that is easily removable, thus ensuring the safety of the trainee and control of the training exercise.
• Provided with one generic exit
• Provided with one exit mechanism handle
