About this file

The document is a Salient Characteristics Commercial Availability Certification for a Department of the Army Sources Sought notice seeking eight (8) High Power, High Brightness Laser Diode Bar Stacks. The government requires laser diode bar stacks with specific technical specifications including: output power of five (5) kilowatts (minimum three (3) KW), operational duty cycle of 1.5% or better, output pulse width of 300 microseconds, output bandwidth of four (4) nanometers at Full Width Half Maximum, and output central wavelength within 972 to 973 nm range. The Sources Sought notice is targeting small businesses, including Section 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned, and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Businesses, with a solicitation number W911QX25QA090. Responses are due five days after posting, and the procurement will be managed by the Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, with Douglas Dennard serving as the contract specialist.

Salient Characteristics

Commercial Availability Certification:

I have evaluated the commercial marketplace and determined that all of the salient characteristics documented below are available in products/services offered in the commercial marketplace.

Signature (typed name): Nikolay Ter-Gabrielyan Technical Point of Contact (TPOC)

The Government requires eight (8) High Power, High Brightness Laser Diode Bar Stacks with the following minimum salient characteristics:

· Output Power: Five (5) kilowatts (KW) (minimum three (3) KW)

· Operational Duty Cycle: 1.5 percent (%) or better

· Output Pulse width: 300 microseconds (The source will be operating in a Quazi Continuous Wave (QCW) mode, e.g. producing a continuous sequence of pulses with 1.5 % fill factor (or Duty Cycle). The latter means that the source will be lasing for 15 milliseconds every second of operation with a 50 hertz (Hz) repetition rate

· Output Bandwidth: Four (4) nanometers (nm) at Full Width Half Maximum (FWHM). This parameter ensures High Spectral Brightness of the source.

· Output Central Wavelength: within 972 to 973 nm wavelength range

· Bar pitch (distance between bars in a stack): Less than or equal to (<) 600 micrometers

· Divergence: Fast Axis Collimated (FAC), one (1) degree or better; This parameter, along with the Bar Pitch ensures High Spatial brightness of the Source.

· Cooling – conductive
