About this file
The Salient Characteristics document is a detailed specification for a sole-sourced Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) platform for edge AI optimization research, specifically for the Jackal J100 Robotic Research Platform. The document outlines precise technical requirements for a comprehensive UGV system, including one Jackal J100 Robotic Research Platform, two different Mini-ITX computer configurations, a GPU upgrade, navigation software, positioning sensors, WiFi and cellular radio, a depth sensor, and a spares kit. The system must meet specific operational criteria, including the ability to operate in wooded and urban environments, possess an open architecture compatible with Robot Operating System (ROS), support autonomous and semi-autonomous missions, weigh under 150 pounds, and be non-ITAR restricted.
The solicitation is issued by the Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, with the solicitation number W911QX-25-QA053, and represents a notice of intent to sole source the UGV platforms and outdoor navigation sensors. The comprehensive support package includes a three-year warranty covering parts, workmanship, and labor, with priority access to the manufacturer's customer support team and a 48-hour response time for inquiries. Key technical specifications include a maximum speed of 2 meters per second, operating temperature range of -20°C to 45°C, GPS and IMU capabilities, and multiple power configuration options to support research and development requirements.
