Technical Point of Contact (TPOC)

C.1 Objective

In an effort to conduct research for the operation of a Rydberg quantum sensor to progress customer and mission related programs at the Quantum Technology Sciences branch Directorate within the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), the supply of five (5) signal generator extension modules comprised of three (3) standard extension modules and two (2) modular extensions that produce millimeter waves with frequencies that cover ARL’s entire frequency range while being compatible with the Keysight E8257D signal generator is required.

The Contractor shall supply the aforementioned, in accordance with section C.2 of this document. The Contractor shall include all parts, equipment, material, and delivery to the operating point of use.

C.2 Requirements

C.2.1 The Contractor shall deliver a quantity of five (5) signal generator extension modules comprised of three (3) standard extension modules and two (2) modular extensions that produce millimeter waves with frequencies that cover the entire frequency range provided below. The signal generator extension modules shall be compatible with the Keysight E8257D signal generator. The required lead time for delivery is no more than 14 weeks After Receipt of Order (ARO). The delivery location shall be ARL, Adelphi, Maryland 20783. The required five (5) module(s) shall meet the following salient characteristics:

The frequencies ranges and corresponding powers that must be covered:

1) 50-110 gigahertz (GHz) with minimum of 17 decibel milliwatts (dBm) power

2) 90-140 GHz with minimum of 13 dBm output power

3) 140-220 GHz with minimum of 6 dBm output power

4) 220-330 GHz with minimum of 3 dBm output power In each frequency range, ARL requires the following salient characteristics:

1) Adjustable attenuators with at least 30 decibels (dB) of suppression

2) One pump input for pump frequencies up to 20 gigahertz (GHz) with up to 10dBm of power

3) Fast, transistor-transistor logic (TTL)-controlled switching modulators on the input (with switching times of 2 nanoseconds)

4) An alternate pump input for pump frequencies up to 40 GHz with up to 0 dBm input power, provides reduced unwanted harmonic content

5) Unwanted harmonic content within band greater than 20 dB lower than the carrier signal

6) Shall include a warranty of a minimum of one (1) year Contracting Officer:
