About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics Commercial Availability Certification, which outlines the minimum technical specifications for a Tunable Diode Laser required by the Department of the Army Materiel Command, Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground.
The key requirements include: tuning range of 760-810 nanometers, linewidth less than 1 kilohertz, mode-hop-free tuning over 30 gigahertz, wavelength precision of 0.2 nanometers, wavelength calibration to a Rubidium gas cell, power stabilization within 1% RMS, USB communication controls, 60dB optical isolation, and 120VAC 60Hz power. The laser must be commercially available and meet these salient characteristics. This certification is related to a sole source solicitation for one Tunable Diode Laser under Solicitation Number W911QX24Q0202.

Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR)
The Contractor shall provide one (1) Tunable Diode Laser that has the following minimum specifications, or equivalent:
· Shall be capable of tuning from 760 nanometers (nm) – 810 nm of instantaneous wavelength linewidth of less than 1 kilohertz (kHz) and mode-hop-free wavelength tuning of over 30 gigahertz (GHz).
· Shall be capable of motorized tuning to 0.2 nm in wavelength precision.
· Shall be capable of wavelength calibration to integrated Rubidium (Rb) gas cell.
· Shall be capable of stabilization of output power to within 1% Root Mean Square (RMS).
· Shall have an availability of commands set for the control and readout of laser functions via universal serial bus (USB) communication to the external computer.
· Shall be capable of possessing an optical isolator of 60 Decibels (dB) for the isolation of laser diode from unwanted optical feedback.
· Laser output shall accept technology standard Ferrule Connector / Angled Physical Contact (FC/APC) polarization maintaining (PM) fiber port receptacle with its narrow key aligned to the laser’s slow axis.
· Shall be powered through a North American standard 3-prong NEMA 5-15 grounded (Type B) power cord to accept power from 120 volt alternating current (AC) at 60 hertz.
