About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document for a blue light cystoscopy system procurement by the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The document specifies a complete endoscopic imaging solution from Karl Storz that combines Photodynamic Diagnosis (PDD) and standard white-light endoscopy capabilities. The system includes multiple components: a 4mm x 30cm autoclavable Hopkins II telescope, fiber optic light cables with locking mechanisms (minimum 230cm length), four pendulum camera heads with full HD capability, a dual-LED light source with 30,000-hour service life, a 4K/32-inch monitor, medical-grade printer, and a surgical cart. All reusable components must be autoclavable or suitable for medical reprocessing.

The system must deliver specific technical performance characteristics including adjustable blue light fluorescence in the 390-430nm range for PDD imaging, white light with CHROMA color enhancement across the 400-700nm range, 4K and HD video outputs, and integrated camera control unit connectivity. Additional requirements include a pendulum camera head with programmable user buttons, high-intensity LED light source compatible with PDD, fluorescence imaging technology (OPAL1), and foot switch controls for handsfree operation of lighting functions. The solicitation is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 22 under solicitation number 36C26226Q1282 as a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12.
