About this file
This is a Salient Characteristics document outlining minimum essential requirements for a federal procurement of protective covers for the HH60W helicopter. The 920th RQW is requesting 15 total covers: 5 cockpit covers, 5 right-hand weapon system covers, and 5 left-hand weapon system covers. The reference brand is Envelop protective covers (Model 122261 for the cockpit cover), though equal products meeting specified characteristics will be considered for award under FAR 52.211-6.
The cockpit covers must be form-fitting fabric covers with nylon straps and buckles that protect the HH60W nose, windshields, and windows from damage, corrosion, and dirt. The weapon system covers must accommodate multiple configurations including GAU-21 and GAU-2 combinations, dual weapon mounts, and mount-only configurations. All covers must be constructed from subdued fabric in desert tan or USAF grey, with cockpit cover contact surfaces designed to prevent damage to glass or polymer windows. Covers must include a "remove before flight" streamer and minimize foreign object damage risk. Delivery is required within 180 days after receipt of order, and a minimum one-year standard commercial warranty covering parts and labor is mandated.
