About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics specification for Base Course material for Hurlburt Air Force Base. The Air Force requires 3,000 tons of base course material to be delivered to RR705, with specific technical requirements for the aggregate. The material must meet stringent quality standards, including:
- Soundness Loss of 15% (AASHTO T104)
- Percent Wear of 45% (AASHTO T96, Grading A)
- Lime rock bearing ratio value of at least 100
- Uniformly graded aggregate free from vegetable matter, shale, lumps, and clay balls
The specification includes a detailed gradation table (Table 1) outlining precise percentage requirements for aggregate passing through various sieve sizes, with three different gradation options (No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3). The location for delivery is mapped, showing access via Highway 98 to Hurlburt Field, with a satellite view indicating the specific delivery zone marked by a yellow star.
