About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics Commercial Availability Certification for a federal contract opportunity seeking one (1) automated, parallel peptide synthesizer and one (1) compatible peptide cleavage system for the U.S. Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside with specific technical requirements including the ability to synthesize 48 peptides in parallel at a 300 micromole scale, using 120V power, with modular reactor block configurations, robotic liquid handling, and automated drainage capabilities.
Key technical specifications include a computer with pre-loaded control software, at least 24 vessels for amino acids, ability to dispense reagents, heating to 60°C with simultaneous shaking, and a compatible cleavage system capable of processing 24 peptides using trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in the same disposable reactor vials. The contract is being issued by the Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, with delivery and shipping included to the specified research laboratory location.

Technical Point of Contact (TPOC)
The Government requires one (1) automated, parallel peptide synthesizer and one (1) compatible peptide cleavage system that meet the following minimum characteristics:
· One (1) automated, parallel peptide synthesizer system
· Power requirements: 120 V~, 60 Hz
· Capable of synthesizing 48 peptides in parallel at a scale of at least 300 micromole per reaction on solid support resin
· Reactions are performed in consumable/disposable reactor vials of at least 2 milliliters and 5 milliliters sizes
· Reactor vials can be heated to at least 60 OC with simultaneous shaking/agitation
· Must have modular/variable reactor block configurations to adapt alternative scale synthesis from 5 micromole to at least 300 micromole scales
· Must accurately dispense volumes of reagents using a robotic liquid handler
· At least 24 vessels for amino acids / monomers to enable unattended synthesis and not require vessel reloading
· Able to utilize at least 5 reagent bottles with a minimum volume of 200 milliliters
· Automated drainage into a dedicated waste container via an included vacuum pump
· A computer and pre-loaded software capable of controlling the instrument with the ability to create a complete synthesis program for all peptide sequences synthesized in parallel, while not requiring an internet connection, Bluetooth, or wireless access to function
· One (1) compatible cleavage system capable of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) cleaving and agitating/shaking at least 24 peptides and able to be performed in the same consumable/disposable reactor vials that the solid phase synthesis was performed in and able to transfer the cleavage solution to individual vessels is needed.
· Shipping and delivery shall be included to U.S. Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, MD, 20783 Contracting Officer:
