Salient Characteristics Attachment Summary

This document is a Salient Characteristics Attachment that establishes minimum technical and performance requirements for TempTrak Internal Temperature and Relative Humidity Transmitters. The transmitters must be fully interoperable with the existing TempTrak enterprise monitoring system, communicating natively with TempTrak receivers, gateways, and software without requiring additional hardware, middleware, or software licensing. The devices must operate on 900 MHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology with transmission capability up to 2,500 feet in open-field conditions and must integrate automatically into existing data reporting, alerting, and compliance records.

The transmitters must meet specific sensor performance requirements including a temperature range of -4°F to 140°F with accuracy of ±0.5°F at 77°F, and a relative humidity range of 0 to 95% RH with accuracy of ±2% (10–90% RH), supported by NIST-traceable calibration. Operational specifications include battery power (3-volt lithium), minimum 400 hours onboard data storage, no hardwired installation, and weight of approximately 3 ounces. The devices must include a minimum one-year warranty and be capable of continuous 24/7 monitoring in accordance with VHA Directive 1108.07. All transmitters must physically and electronically match currently deployed units, fit existing mounting locations without modification, and support the TempTrak configuration interface used at the facility.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS ATTACHMENT

Salient Characteristics – TempTrak Internal Temperature + Relative Humidity Transmitters

The transmitters provided shall meet or exceed the following characteristics for compatibility and functional performance:

1. System Compatibility Requirements

• Must be fully interoperable with the existing TempTrak enterprise monitoring system.

• Must communicate natively with TempTrak receivers, gateways, and software.

• Must integrate automatically into existing data reporting, alerting, and compliance records.

• No additional hardware, middleware, software licensing, or reconfiguration shall be required.

2. Wireless Communication Requirements

• 900 MHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum

• Up to 2500 ft open-field transmission capability

• Must operate on the same wireless architecture used by existing TempTrak sensors

3. Sensor Performance Requirements

• Temperature Range: -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to +60°C)

• Temperature Accuracy: ±0.5°F (±0.3°C) at 77°F (25°C)

• Relative Humidity Range: 0 to 95% RH

• Relative Humidity Accuracy: ±2% (10–90% RH)

• NIST-traceable calibration

4. Operational Requirements

• Battery powered (3-volt lithium)

• Minimum 400 hours onboard data storage

• No hardwired installation required

• Weight approximately 3 oz (85 g)

• Minimum one (1) year warranty

• Capable of continuous 24/7 monitoring in accordance with VHA Directive 1108.07

5. Form, Fit, Function Requirements

• Must physically and electronically match the transmitters currently deployed

• Must fit existing mounting locations without modification

• Must support the TempTrak configuration interface used at the facility

These salient characteristics define the minimum required capabilities to ensure full functional and system compatibility with the existing TempTrak monitoring infrastructure.
