About this file

This document is a draft Salient Characteristics specification for a Wildland Brush Truck for the Department of Air Force Global Strike Command. The requirements specify a comprehensive end-mount slip-on firefighting unit designed to be mounted on single-cab pickup trucks (Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet) with a specific 84" cab-to-axle configuration. The detailed specifications include a 400-gallon fully baffled poly tank with a 10-gallon foam cell, an 18HP Briggs & Stratton motor, CF-120 pump, Hannay steel electric hose reel, and a comprehensive flatbed/storage package featuring multiple toolboxes, hose trays, and equipment storage options.

The solicitation is currently in a pre-solicitation "sources sought" phase, seeking vendor feedback on equipment availability, delivery feasibility, installation capabilities, and technical specifics. Key delivery requirements include installation of the complete brush truck unit within 364 calendar days of contract award, with specific requirements for front bumper installation and detailed equipment specifications. The government is specifically requesting vendors to provide direct responses to seven targeted questions about their capability to meet the precise technical and logistical requirements outlined in the draft characteristics document.
