About this file
This document is a response to questions for VA Solicitation 36C26026Q0055 for Radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine patients at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The Q&A clarifies several key procurement details, including specific constraints and requirements for various radiopharmaceutical line items. Notably, I-131 capsules are limited to 15 mCi or 150 mCi per bid, with pricing based on mCi rather than per capsule quantity, and all Tc99m requests are specified as Non-HEU (non-highly enriched uranium).
The document addresses vendor inquiries about custom capsules, specific radionuclide products like Datscan and I-123, and confirms the delivery location as VA Puget Sound. Vendors were instructed to quote only items included in the solicitation item sheet and not to propose additional products. The responses provide precise guidance on dosage limitations, pricing structures, and product specifications, ensuring clear communication between the VA and potential radiopharmaceutical suppliers for nuclear medicine services.

Reponses to questions received for solicitation 36C26026Q0055 are below, in green.
• Line Item 24 and 25 - I-131 capsules are limited to 15 mCi or 150 mCi per bid. Patients require custom capsules and should not be restricted to 2 quantities. There is a wide range of dosages administered for I-131 from 2 mCi to 300 mCi, we charge based off mCi, not per capsule.
Line 24 is limited to 15mCi because that is our maximum dose for I-131 hyperthyroid therapy. The quote given was per mCi. Line 25 is for Thyroid Ca treatment.
• Line Item 30 - Does the current vendor process RBC at the pharmacy? We noted Tc99m Denatured RBC on the price list and want to be sure we quote correctly.
The vendor process Denatured RBC at vendor’s pharmacy.
• Line Item 33 - We didn’t see branded Datscan on price list only generic Ioflupane I-123, would you like us to quote for branded Datscan?
No, only quote for items included in the solicitation item sheet.
• Line Item 35 - We didn’t see Hetastarch on the price list (in case the patient's blood doesn't separate for WBC studies) and ACD (in case a patient has a heparin allergy) would you like us to quote for these 2 items?
No, only quote for items included in the solicitation item sheet.
• Line Item 34 - What does the UD for under Tc99m Mebrofenin?
Unit Dose.
• Line Item 19 -21 - We can also make custom I-123 capsules, charged per mCi, so patients don't have to take multiple I-123 capsules if they need a high dose, would you like us to quote for these?
No, only quote for items included in the solicitation item sheet.
• Can you clarify if all the Tc99m are requests are Non-HEU?
All Tc99m are Non-HEU.
Also, can you confirm which VA Facility this solicitation is for? The “Deliver To” address says Puget Sound VAHS, but the B2 Price List says Portland. We want to be sure we are giving you accurate information.
VA Puget Sound Health Care System.
