About this file

This document is a brand name justification for a federal contract opportunity issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The justification is for the procurement of glucose sensors to be delivered within 10 days of order receipt. The justification cites authority under the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13.5 for restricting competition due to medical necessity, as the sensors have been prescribed by VA physicians and substitutions are not permitted. A synopsis was posted to the System for Award Management and qualified vendors will be able to submit quotes by the unspecified response date. The anticipated cost is deemed fair and reasonable based on competition or an independent cost estimate. Market research found one existing Federal Supply Schedule contract and similar recent requirements.
